Preparation is underway for the inauguration of the President-Elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Saturday at the Black Star Square in Accra.
GBC’s correspondent Rita Amparbeng Tetteh went round parts of the city to assess the preparedness for the event.
Expectations are very high as President elect Nana Akufo Addo gets set to assume office.
Teachers and Trainee Nurses, Public Sector workers and Pensioners are all expecting restoration of allowances, pay increases and good working conditions.
How will the government manage these expectations. A governance Expert Prof Baffour Agyeman Dua agrees with GBC’s George Ankrah that no government had ever planted corn today and harvested the next day.
Ghanaians will need to exercise patience with the new government to roll out its policies.
Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Communications Director of the NPP, Alhaji Yussif Fofana says the inauguration of President-elect Nana Akufo Addo is a day for all Ghanaians and not for one political party.
He said the event is an open one for all and the Independence Square, which is the venue, is being well arranged to host all categories of invitees in an orderly manner.
Sitting positions for foreign dignitaries, government officials, security and the media have all been mapped out.
