GAF Sports Complex officially opened 

The Ghana Armed Forces Sports Complex has officially been opened in Accra. 

The Complex which began as a site for the construction of a swimming pool for the military has now been transformed into a modern Sports Complex with facilities for eight disciplines. 

These include basketball tennis, badminton and a gymnasium and an aerobic section among others. 

The Director General of Training, Commodore Darbo said the rational behind the establishment of the Sports Complex is to encourage Sporting activities within the army and the nation at large. 

He announced that from next year, promotion in the army would be based on fitness and encouraged personnel to register in order to have access to the place. 

The Complex will be managed by a private company for effective and smooth running.
