Two arrested for stealing galvanised poles and wire mesh

The Ningo Prampram Police have arrested two suspects, Isaac Akuteye and Teye Dauglas residents of Old Ningo for stealing galvanised poles and wire mesh belonging to the GHANAMAN Centre for Soccer Excellence and the Central University College. 

However the third suspects, Joe Amewuda is at large. 

Narrating the incident to Radio Ghana at Prampram, the District Police Commander, and DSP Paul Mensah Bampo, said on the 8th of August this year, the group succeeded in cutting twenty-five poles of wire mesh from the fence securing the Central University College. 

Again on the 1st of September this year, the group undertook an operation at the GHANAMAN Centre for Soccer Excellence and made away with 86 poles of wire mesh protecting the inner perimeter of the football pitch. 

According to DSP Bampo, the group later returned to the GHANAMAN Centre and removed 52 out of the 86 galvanised poles mounted around the pitch and loaded them unto an Opel Astra with registration number, GT 2743 U and headed towards Ashaiman.

Lack however eluded them as they were arrested by the police on a snap check duty at the Kpone barrier.

DSP Bampo entreated the public to assist the police to arrest the third suspect who is at large.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway as the suspects will be arraigned before court.
