Kobane: Islamic State widens attack on border town Reports indicate that fighting between Islamic State, ISIS militants and Syrian Kurds have spread to the southern district of the town of Kobane on the Turkish border, as US-led air strikes continue. But fighting in the town was less intense yesterday when ISIS took control of three districts in the east. Witnesses report of several loud explosions and plumes of smoke from air strikes.
