The Daily Graphic describes the decision by Labone Senior High School to dismiss about 250 students for poor performance as very sad. According to the paper, the situation is worrying considering the number of students affected. It believes it could have serious consequences on the students, parents and the society at large. The paper says it is not against measures taken by the school to ensure that students perform well but finds the dismissal as an oversimplification of the problem. The paper therefore thinks that the students should be assessed on a one-no-one basis with the view to assisting them to become useful citizens in future, while teachers’ performance should also be assessed. 

The Ghanaian Times says it is apparent that the Ebola diseases is no more an African problem, but a global one especially since some Western Countries have recorded some cases. To the paper, it is important for the world especially the developed nations to realize that the Ebola virus is not only for the poor since despite their incredible health systems they have not been able to contain the disease. The Times hopes that the comparative weaknesses of the public-health systems of the poor countries, which led to their failure to contain the disease, would now receive the necessary assistance and boost from the developed countries. 

The Today Newspaper expresses worry about the spate of corruption in government institutions. Making reference to the mess at the National Service Secretariat, the Paper says it is unthinkable that a whopping GH¢ 7.9 million was paid to some ghost names in July 2014. It wonders why people entrusted with public funds abuse them. The Today Newspaper therefore calls for an all hands on deck approach to fight against corruption. The paper advices the public to report corrupt officials to the appropriate quarters and hopes that when cases of corruption are brought before the courts, Judges will dispense them without fear or favour.
