Government must pay compensation or return land - claimant

A claimant whose land was acquired by government for the purpose of establishing a land-fill site at Kwabenya in Accra, Isaac Tetteh, has appealed to government to either pay compensation for the land or lift the executive instrument used in acquiring it.

Mr Tetteh told the Judgement Debt Commission that two plots of land belonging to him were valued at one thousand nine hundred and 89 cedis in 2007, but compensation has not been paid.

He is worried that since the land is currently vacant it could be re-sold by encroachers to prospective buyers.
