ECG Outlines New Schedules For Industry To Stabilize Power Industries are now to enjoy six days of continued power supply and suffer two days of power outage, including Sundays under a new load -schedule released by the Electricity Company. The ECG announced the new load shedding schedule in Accra yesterday after holding consultative meetings with the Association of Ghana industries (AGI), the Ghana Chamber of Mines and other stakeholders. Under the new schedule, residential areas will have twenty four hours of power supply and twelve hours of power outage whiles the Chamber of Mines and Industries have agreed to reduce the power they use by twenty five percent. However, essential service providers are exempted. The Director of Operations of ECG, Tetteh Okyne, speaking at a media briefing in Accra said the new schedule, will ensure power supply to enable people to plan their activities. He said a few weeks ago the loading regime was very erratic, a situation which he acknowledged impacted negatively on individuals and industries. The new schedule which will remain in force till the end of December would be closely monitored by the committee which comprises various stakeholders.
