Stakeholders in malaria control and elimination devise innovative local funding strategy

As donor funding begins to dry-up due to world economic crunch and Ghana's upward status as a lower middle income economy, stakeholders in malaria control and elimination have taken a bold initiative to develop an innovative-funding mechanism to improve domestic funding in malaria control and elimination.

They are exploring multiple sources of funding for malaria control and moving towards elimination of the disease.

The group is expected to come out with a financial sustainability and resource mobilisation plan for malaria control after their four day deliberation at Elmina in the Central Region.
