Black Stars named best AFCON 2015 team

Ghana was named as the best seeded team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, thanks to the Black Stars record in the past three editions of the tournament as well as its performance in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars have been seeded for reaching all the semi-finals of the past three editions of the tournament.

Their impressive showing at the 2014 World Cup qualifiers also helped while their showing also in the qualifiers for the tournament for the past three editions also contributed to the Black Stars being the top seeded team.

Speaking ahead of the AFCON draw in Malabo Wednesday evening, former Black Stars goalkeeper, Abubakar Damba, says he expects the Black Stars to be handed a better group opponent.
