Parliament Approves 2015 Budget

The 2015 budget has been approved by Parliament. 

The Minister of Finance, Seth Tekper, in wrapping up the debate for the approval of the budget reiterated the need for public institutions for which government procures loans, to work at paying back the loans from their own funds.

He says the key to ensuring value for money projects and reducing the public debt stock is for beneficiary institutions to pay for it themselves. 

Mr. Tekper said that if it was possible in the first republic for projects to pay for themselves, it is feasible now. 

He says it is based on this that the on lending policy of government was introduced.
