Ghana marks International Volunteers Day tomorrow

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has identified volunteerism as crucial in addressing current national and global challenges.

 A Deputy Sector Minister, Mrs Dela Sowah said with the threat of Ebola, terrorism and economic problems plaguing the world today, more hands are needed in terms of volunteers to help solve the global difficulties.

She said Ghana is currently putting in measures to create the environment for particularly the youth to embrace volunteerism in helping develop the nation.

Madam Sowah was speaking at a ceremony in Accra to launch the celebration of International Volunteers Day which falls tomorrow.
