President Mahama Celebrates 56th Birthday with children of Assin Juabeng in the Central region. President John Dramani Mahama, has for the second time joined children of Assin Juabeng in the Central region to celebrate his 56th birthday which fell on the 29th of November. The children were feted to lots of food,drinks and good music. President Mahama, promised the town projects that will inure to their benefits. President Mahama, also used the occasion to inaugurate a modern shed for the Chiefs and People of Assin Juapong , to host various activities. Radio Ghana's Correspondent, Pascaline Adadevoh reports that two years ago upon consultation with the former Central regional Minister Ama Benyiwaa Doe, Assin Juapong a small deprived town was chosen to celebrate with President Mahama on his birthday. The Tradition has continued. A large number of children gathered to sing for the President and to assist him cut his birthday cake. Just like other communities, the residents of Assin Juapong are traders and predominantly farmers. The town has no hospital,kindergaten and inadequate schools. These requests were placed at the feet of President Mahama, when he first joined them during the 2012 election campaign. Government has already awarded the Kindergarten project through the GETFUND and it is almost near completion. The Assin Nyankumasi Senior High School is also to benefit from a new Boys dormintory. The Chief of Assin Juabeng Nana Kwantwi Barima, has already provided land for the Health post. As an adopted son of the town,President Mahama has also been given a piece of land to build a house where he can lodge when he visits. He was grateful for the kind gesture and promised that development will be brought to their doorstep. President Mahama was also joined by the Chiefs to unveil a newmodern shed for the community named after one of the founding members of Assin Juabeng Eno Dakwaah who has passed on. GBC
