President Mahama highlights need to reduce maternal mortality

President John Mahama has emphasized the need to reduce maternal mortality in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goal five. 

This he said can be achieved through universal affordable access to reproductive health. 

President Mahama tasked Regional Ministers and District Chief Executives to assure women under their jurisdiction of safe deliveries at health centres. 

He made the remark in a speech read on his behalf at the 2014 Accountability Forum on Campaign for Accelerated Reduction of Maternal Mortality.
