Joyce Dzidzor Mensah Tested HIV Positive – AIDS Commission

The Ghana AIDS Commission says the statement by former HIV/AIDS ambassador Joyce Dzidzor Mensah that she is HIV negative is false.

The Director General of the commission, Dr Angela El-Adas says it embarks on a campaign to reduce stigma and discrimination suffered by persons living with HIV in order to provide a human face to HIV/AIDS.

She said HIV/AIDS is real and the Commission will not be discouraged by the false claims of Dzidzor because she tested positive as far back as 2007.

Dr El-Adas disclosed this in an interview with radio Ghana I Accra. 

Meanwhile, one of the AIDS Ambassadors of the Heart to Heart Anti-stigma campaign, Rev John Azumah has confirmed that Ambassadors of the campaign are HIV positive.

He stressed that they are ready to show themselves for further tests and interrogation.
