Fire engulfs Abuabo Market in Tamale Five sheds at the Abuabo Market in Tamale have been burnt to ashes destroying about five hundred bags of grains belonging to traders. According to our correspondent the incident happened about 2 am today but the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Officials of the Ghana National Fire Service are said to have rushed to the scene to quench the fire but they had no access to the market because some vehicles loaded with goods had blocked the main entrance to the market. An eye witness, Amidu Fuseinu Gomda, told Radio Ghana that the current state of the market calls for rehabilitation to make it accessible to vehicles and traders. The Abuabo Market is one of the biggest markets in the Northern Region where grains are sold. GBC
