Expert states that international media failed to help manage Ebola epidemic in West Africa A Lecturer at the School of Communications Studies at the University of Ghana, Dr Etse Sikanku, has stated that the international media failed to help manage the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. He believes most of their reportage was based on scare mongering and negativity. Dr Sikanku made these remarks when he presented his research findings on patronage of public health emergencies at a forum in Accra. He blamed the African media for leaving much of the reportage on the epidemic to the international media. GBC
