Eric Amoateng's case adjourned to March 18

Prosecutor and investigator in the case of former Nkoranza North MP Eric Amoateng are to make available to the Circuit Court in Accra, medical reports on them for their absence at previous sitting.

This follows a reminder by the Presiding Judge Ellen Amoah of the court order for the prosecutor DSP Aidan Derry to provide the court with documentary evidence on their absence on medical grounds.

Both the Prosecutor and investigator were unable to be in court at its last sitting due to ill health.

The court noted that in accordance with the legal procedure, medical evidence must be procured to that effect.

It has to adjourn the case yet again for a fourth time at the instance of the state.

DSP Derry informed the court that the witness ASP Lodonu who is also the investigator in the case is out of the jurisdiction for a one week course and he is expected to be in court on the 18th of this month for further cross examination.

He has given his narration on the matter asserting that his investigations revealed that passport forms are not available online contrary to Mr Amoateng's claim.

So far the owner of the passport Barbara Inkum, an Assistant Commissioner of Immigration Issaka Long-Hani and the investigator have testified in the matter.
