Increase funding in Science and Technology research - Dr. Victor Agyeman 

The Director General of the CSIR, Dr. Victor Agyeman has called on government and the Private Sector to take a cue from the Asian Tigers especially China and increase funding in Science and Technology research.  

He said the current budgetary allocation to the sector of between zero- point -three percent and zero- point- five percent is woefully inadequate to under take effective research and development to improve Science and Technology.  

Dr. Agyeman was speaking at the start of the West African Cowpea Consortium Annual Meeting and Training Session in Accra.
