Examination malpractices - WASSCE

Out of the two hundred and forty thousand, six hundred and sixty two candidates who sat for the May/June WASSCE last year, eight thousand and fifty-one of them were involved in examination malpractices.  

The figure represents three point three-five percent which is an all time high.  

Brong Ahafo comes on top as the region with the highest incidents of examination malpractices with more than four thousand cases.  

Addressing a stakeholder dialogue on examination malpractices, the Registrar to the Council at WAEC, Dr Iyi Uwadiae said, cheating candidates have resorted to the use of mobile phones to facilitate their fraudulent activities.  

Dr. Uwadiae said in view of this, WAEC has put in place stringent measures to curb the festering phenomenon of examination malpractices.
