MP's analyse review budget The Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah –Bonsu says Minister of Finance did not give the bigger picture in his statement on the implications of the fall in crude oil prices on the 2015 budget. Commenting on the statement, he said based on the minister’s pronouncement, the growth rate of the economy will be affected. He said this key since investors will also be counting on such information. He said the effects of the fall affects virtually all sectors but the Minister was salient on all these. The Chairman of the Finance committee, James Avedzi said the Ministry had shown a lot of foresight by presenting the information to Ghanaians. He said the ministry had shown that in all that transpires, social spending will not be affected. His ranking member, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei cautioned the Minister to ensure Parliamentary authority before any loan granted by the IMF is disbursed. He said Ghanaians must stand ready to bear any consequence of any conditionality in future. The Minister of Agriculture, Fifi Kwetey was full of praise for the Minister of Finance. He said Mr. Terkper had clearly indicated that though conditions on the world market were unfavorable, government was resolute that it will not let it adversely affect Ghanaians. GBC
