Proper procedures and critical thinking are needed to manage situations after disasters effectively. 

Such is the case in the aftermath of the scourge of Ebola in the three West African states, Liberia, Sierra Leone and the Gambia. 

At a high level ministerial encounter at the 59th session of the CSW in New York, ECOWAS Ministers of Gender and Women Affairs issued a communiqué asking for resources to cater for displaced people as the disease affected women the most and has left quite a number of children orphans.
