IMANI Ghana commends President Mahama for Presidential Delivery Unit creation IMANI Ghana, a Policy Think Tank has commended President, John Mahama for appointing Dr. Valerie Sawyerr to monitor and assess all government projects to ensure they are well executed. IMANI believes this will ensure the fulfillment of the President's social contract with Ghanaians. In a statement, IMANI suggested that cabinet should be strengthened and given the power that will allow it to coordinate expertise across the civil service. These expertise can help government create an office called Administer General in cabinet to vet all proposed projects. Meanwhile, A member of the three Wise men appointed by President Mahama to oversee the timely execution of government projects, E.T Mensah says the creation of a new unit at the Presidency to supervise and monitor government projects is not in conflict with the role assigned to them by the President. He told Radio Ghana that the duties they are expected to perform are entirely different from what the newly created unit will undertake. President Mahama over the weekend appointed Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Valerie Sawyer to head the Presidential Delivery Unit. The unit will be responsible for tracking the execution of all government policies, projects and programmes. GBC
