Nigeria elects new president

Nigerians went to the polls last Saturday to elect a new President and Governors for 36 states.

The Presidential election was contested between the incumbent Gooldluck Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and General Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

At the end of the election the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the results in favour of General Mohammadu Buhari.

Our correspondent Seth Eyiah who was in Nigeria to cover the polls has joined us in the studio to tell us how the elections went.
