NPP Drops Affirmative Action Policy The National Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reversed the controversial Affirmative Action Policy. The Council has also extended the date for election of MPs to 13th of June this year. At a crunch meeting of the National Council in Accra, the party maintained the fifty percent (50%) rebate for women, and the disable who will be contesting the parliamentary seats. Meanwhile, the minority in Parliament has backed the decision of the party to reverse the all women MPs policy. Its Deputy Leader, Dominic Nitiwul told GBC's Radio Ghana that the party's decision is also the decision of the minority.
