Volta Region: 3 Denu jail breakers re-arrested

Three of the seven notorious criminals who broke cell at Denu in the Volta Region have been re-arrested at Lotakor-Klikor near Agbozume in the Volta Region.  

The seven suspected hardened criminals on remand in a police cell at Denu broke out on the dawn of the 13th of last month and made away with two AK47 riffles and 25 rounds of ammunition.

Two policemen on duty on the day of the jail break were interdicted ten days after the incident in line with police regulations and were brought to the CID Headquarters in Accra for interrogation.  

The escape of the criminals brought fear to residents who had the impression that the suspects may visit harm on them, compelling the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to visit the communities to re-assure them of their safety and security.
