Congestion in Prisons linked to number of persons on remand Human Rights Advocates in Ghana have attributed congestion in the country's prisons to the number of persons on remand. According to them, one third of the prison population are persons on remand. The Human Rights Advocates are therefore calling on the IGP to ensure that the CID expedite trial of prisoners on remand.
