Chairman of Public Accounts Committee shocked at non-compliance of payment of statutory funds by government

Government continues to delay in transferring Statutory Funds thereby making it difficult for Institutions to timely undertake programmes and projects. 

In particular, since 2011, government has not been current with the release of money to the GETFund. 

Responding to queries at a hearing of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, Deputy Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson said the Ministry is doing all it can to ensure the timely transfer of money  to the GETFund. 

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Kweku Agyemang Manu was not enthused with the continuous delay in the release of the funds and wondered why non-compliance to laws by government institutions should go unpunished.
