She cautioned that those who will fail to abide by the ultimatum will face the law. Madam Ntoso gave the directive at a news conference in Ho. The Regional Minister, Helen Ntoso cautioned that arbitrary construction of speed ramps is illegal. According to her, the practice is dangerous and also causes inconvenience on the roads. She therefore admonished the communities in the region to refrain from undertaking such unlawful acts. She also directed the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) that where necessary the National Road Safety Commission should demolish unauthorized speed ramps to ensure safe and smooth running of vehicles on the roads. Madam Ntoso expressed regret that despite the various educational programmes for both drivers and other road users, accidents and loss of lives are still high. She attributed the menace to indiscipline and disrespect of the laws and regulations on driving. The Regional Minister urged transport unions such as the G.P.R.T.U to continue educating their members on the regulations to reduce road accidents. The Volta Regional Director of the Road Safety Commission, Daniel Wuaku commended the Volta Regional Coordinating Council for organizing the programme and assured the general public that efforts will be made to bring sanity on to the roads.
