Increased public perception of corruption blamed on slow government response to prosecuting alleged corrupt officials

The President of the Central University College, Professor Kwesi Yankah says the refusal by the Presidency to prosecute alleged corrupt officials as well as inaction on reports of investigations into alleged corruption cases have increased public perception of corruption in the country. 

Professor Yankah said the President must do more to reduce this perception. 

He said this at a corruption conference hosted by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA). 

Professor Yankah said the situation where former public officials continue to use official vehicles after leaving office has also fuelled the corruption perception.
