Occupy Ghana call on Workers to wear red on May 1  

Occupy Ghana, a socio-political pressure group, is calling on all workers to wear red on Friday, May 1. 

This according to the group, is a sign of protest for better living and economic conditions. 

All persons in the informal sector, for instance, taxi drivers, hawkers and traders are to put a touch of red on their vehicles, wares and buildings. 

A founding member of the group, Sidney Casely Hayford, who announced this at a media briefing in Accra today, said the rate at which industries are struggling and the abysmal performance of the cedi against other currencies necessitated the call for a "Red Friday" which is May Day.

Mr. Casely-Hayford said poor accountability and uncertainty have rocked the pensions scheme with the pension managers engaging in questionable transactions.  
He appealed to government not to meddle in the tier-two pension scheme.

For his part the Executive Director of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, called on workers to persist till government takes measures to resolve their challenges.
