New Juaben Municipal Assembly to receive a grant of $598,531.43 from World Bank

The New Juaben Municipal Assembly is to receive a grant of 598 thousand 531 point-43 dollars from the World Bank following its qualification in the criteria for the Urban Development Grant projects. 

The Assembly qualified in its assessment for years 2013 and 2014 to be given that package for development in the Municipality. 

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Dr. Kwaku Owusu Acheampong, who disclosed this to Radio Ghana said the first tranche of the grant which is more than 300 thousand Ghana Cedis is in the bank waiting to be disbursed. 

According to Dr. Owusu Acheampong, the grant will be used to build sheds for market women and a three-storey building for shops and stores. 

He added that some of the amount will also be used for pavements to help keep the Municipality clean and give it a facelift. 

Due to the urban projects, he said, traders on the pavements will be relocated to the Zongo and Agartha Markets for the project to begin by next month and will be completed by March next year. 

Other places to benefit from the Urban Development Grant projects are Zamarima Line, and Ho Lorry Station.
