The Daily Graphic calls on the leadership of ECOWAS to move beyond mere rhetoric to action on protocols and policies in a manner that citizens will feel their impact. It says crossing a border into a neighbouring country should be hassle free for citizens of member countries. The Graphic says the leadership of ECOWAS should draw lessons from the operations of the EU which just celebrated its 65th anniversary this year one can easily tell the measured achievements of how potent its currency has become within International cycles. 

The Ghanaian Times is worried about how youth employment has been relegated to the background, with governments paying lip service to it. It notes that the problem of youth employment is of grave concern to the nation as it could trigger instability. According to the Paper, the rising trend of criminality, armed robbery, civil unrest and other conflicts is a pointer to the fact that the idle youth are becoming more restive, and consequently channeling their energies into such destructive and malevolent ventures. The Times is therefore asking that the problem be tackled with all seriousness, not through mere promises and political rhetoric, but by rolling out programmes to create jobs for the teeming youth coming out of educational institutions year in year out and roaming the streets with nothing doing.  Also incentives should be provided for those with the potential and interested to be on their own.
