579 Nigerian military officers face trial 

The Nigerian army says Five hundred and 79 officers and soldiers are facing a court-martial "to emphasize discipline" on charges believed to be related to the fight against Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

Army Spokesperson Colonel Sani Usman says two courts-martial are taking place today to ensure "quick dispensation of justice, discipline and professionalism but gave no further details.
