Parliament to meet EC over abrupt end of registration exercise

The leadership of Parliament is to meet the Electoral Commission, EC, over the abrupt end of the voters registration exercise. 

This follows an appeal by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani West, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, for the EC to be summoned before Parliament to explain the curtailing of the voters exercise.

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, however said since the exercise is closed, there is no need for the EC to appear before the whole house. He however asked the leadership of Parliament to meet the EC on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Energy and Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah is to present papers covering the work programme of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC and the Sinopec Agreement. 

Presenting the business statement for this  week, the Deputy Majority Leader, Alfred Agbesi said the leadership of the Business Committee of Parliament is liaising with the Minister to agree on a suitable date for him to attend upon the House.
