Choral musical concert held to mark first anniversary of the death of P.V. Obeng 


A choral musical concert to mark the first anniversary of the death of P.V. Obeng has been held at the Good Shepherd Parish, Community Two, Tema.  

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur who graced the occasion praised the oral skills and eloquence of P.V. Obeng anytime he was called upon to speak.
 
He described the late Senior Presidential Advisor as someone who was larger than life but lived a fulfilled life.  

Ingineer Paul Victor Obeng died on saturday, May 17, last year, two days after actively participating in the national economic forum held at Senchi in the Eastern Region.  

Until his death, PV was the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission and Senior Presidential Advisor.  

He was also the Chairman of the Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a staunch member of the ruling NDC, and a practising Catholic.  P.V. was a lover of choral music.  

It was for this reason that his friends and family decided to put the concert together to honour his memory.  

The Tema Youth Choir, Harmonious Choral and the National Symphony Orchestra thrilled the audience.  

Vice President Amissah-Arthur called on Ghanaians to emulate the humility, selflessness and dedicated character of P.V. Obeng.  

P.V`s widow, Mrs Rose Obeng said her husband`s death has been difficult to deal with. She called for help for widows.  The Parish Priest of the Good Shepherd, Reverend Father Isaac Mawunyeh recounted the generosity and simplicity of PV, saying they were glaringly abound.
