29th August, 2019 The Daily Graphic calls on Ghanaians to ensure a successful district level elections. To the paper, the district assembly concept must be supported by Ghanaians in order to get involved in the selection of representatives at the local level to develop the communities. The paper regrets that voter turn-out over the past few years has been very low. The Graphic therefore calls on the EC and the NCCE to strategise to increase voter turn-out in the District Level Elections. It adds that, the timely deployment of combined teams of security personnel to various polling stations and locations to maintain law and order is vital. It also advises the public to ensure violence-free elections. The Ghanaians Times advises Ghanaians to stop open defecation. According to the paper, in spite of global efforts to raise awareness about harmful effects of open defecation, the Upper East Region records the high percentage. It calls on Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to embark on vigorous educational campaigns to end open defecation in various communities across the country. The paper, adds that, there should be provision of necessary sanitary facilities for the people and enact bye-laws to out-law open defecation. GBC
