Gambia bans drumming, dancing and music during Ramadan


The Gambia has banned music, dancing and drumming during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The police said people are complying to the directive for fear of being arrested. 

Ordinary citizens in the country whose president declared it an Islamic state in December are being urged to report anyone seen engaging in such activities to the  authorities.
