Wa MCE calls for peace as Muslims celebrate Eid Adha

Hundreds of Muslims thronged the Jubilee Park at Wa in the Upper West region to mark this year’s Eidil Adha.
 
Most of the worshipers dressed in white attire and sang songs of praises to Allah for granting them another year in their lives. 

Radio Ghana’s Correspondent Sualah Abdul-wahab reports that the Imam of the Wa Central Mosque Dr. Sulemana Bakuri led the Orthodox Muslims in prayer while the Ahamadis also observed their prayer at the T I Ahmadiyya Junior High School gardens. 

Dr Bakuri asked the congregation to be grateful to Allah for whatever condition they find themselves. 

He prayed for the President and other government officials to empower them to be able to serve Ghanaians in a way that will improve on their lives. 

The Regional Minister Alhaji Amidu Sulemani in a message commended Muslims for helping to maintain peace which prevails in the region. He said as the nation goes to polls this year it behoves all Muslims to ensure that the exercise takes place in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. 

He said Ghana is the only country they have and that they is no place they can call their country should there be any violence. 

Alhaji Sulemani entreated the congregation to tolerate one another’s views as the campaign for the 2016 elections heats up. Dr Bakuri later slaughtered a ram to kick start the symbolic sacrifice to Allah.
