President Mahama Optimistic Ghana Will Meet Most Of SDGs

President John Mahama has expressed optimism that Ghana would meet most of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, since some of the goals fall within the 40-year development plan. 

He was speaking at an event in France to mark UNESCO International Day for Universal Access to Information. 

Goal 10 of the SDGs is on access to information to the public. 

As co-chair of the SDG Advocacy group, President Mahama noted that the goals featured in both the MDGs and SDGs may look unattainable but they offer the world the opportunity to develop along similar lines.

Citing Ghana's case as far as access to information is concerned, President Mahama said even though this has not been achieved entirely the country has come a long way. 

He commended energy expert and media advocate Dr Charles Wereko Brobbey, who braved the tide to set up the first private FM, "Radio Eye" breaking the culture of silence since.
