Joe Baidoo-Ansah loses NPP Kwesimintim primary Four time New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Kwesimintsim in the Western Region, Joe Baidoo-Ansah today (September 27) lost the party's parliamentary primary to his only contender, Joe Mensah. Mr. Mensah polled 187 votes as against 122 for Mr. Baidoo-Ansah. 311 out of 341 delegates took part in the primary. The party`s constituency primary was delayed following an earlier disqualification of Joe Mensah. He, however, took the matter to court and last Friday (September 23), an Accra High Court nullified his disqualification which paved the way for the primary. Mr. Baidoo-Ansah was seeking a fifth term in parliament. He was the Minister of Trade and Industry from 2002 to 2008 under the Kufour administration. Mr Mensah in a victory speech called for unity so that they can work together for victory in the 2016 election. GBC
