GASIP opens up opportunities for the youth to go into agriculture

The Ghana Agriculture Investment Services Programme, GASIP says it has opened up opportunities for the youth who want to go into agriculture.

Interested young men and women who are desirous of establishing their own agribusiness, especially, in farming, processing and packaging are to submit their proposals for sponsorship.

The Executive Director of GASSIP, Roy Ayariga, told Radio Ghana's George Ankrah, that the target group is small scale farmers in crop, vegetable and cereal productions such as cassava, rice, vegetables and leafy plants like moringa, noni, shea and cashew, among others.

When asked why GASIP has waited till this time before coming out with the programme, Mr Ayariga, said there is the need to do due diligence and quality assessment of the situation in all the ten regions of the country. 

Farmers can now assess grant to buy tractors, irrigation equipment and other processing machinery.
