Two Dead In Chereponi Clash Two persons died following clashes between supporters of the NDC and NPP in Chereponi last night. Fourteen persons sustained injuries, five of them are in critical condition according to the police. At least two party pavilions have also been burnt. According to the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, the two sides clashed after holding peaceful rallies in Wenchiki and Wenjuga. He explained that, jubilant supporters of the two parties clashed at Chereponi while returning from their separate rallies. He disclosed that, military and police team has been dispatched to Chereponi for re-enforcecement. The police has identified Chereponi as a flash point by, and has recorded some political clashes between the NDC and NPP over the years.
