Kidney related deaths increasing in Ghana

Ghana is said to be losing its human workforce to kidney deaths.

Reports from the Renal Dialysis Unit at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital show that infection rate is now between the ages of 15 to 45 as compared to 40 to 65 a decade ago. 

According to the Head of the Unit, Dr. Vincent Boi-Ma, the rate at which the youth are being infected with kidney problems is worrying. 

He said though the black race is prone to the disease due to genes, the current statistics is scary and demands serious collaboration between government and the private sector in the health delivery chain to salvage the situation.
