Local government expert calls for constitutional review white paper revision


A Local Governance Expert, Dr. Eric Osae has called for a revision of the White Paper on the Constitutional Review, especially the bit about Local Governance and Decentralisation. 

He said amendment of the constitution will also be necessary in order for the election of DCE's to be constitutional. 
 
Dr Osae made the remark on Uniiq FM's Breakfast Drive in reference to President-elect Nana Addo Akufo Addo's Campaign Promise of getting DCEs elected. 

Dr Eric Osae said the change of having to elect DCEs instead of appointing will face some challenges but is a move in the right direction as it will go a long will to minimize the winner takes all syndrome.
