Parliament wraps up debate on President Akufo-Addo's SONA 

The Minority in Parliament has expressed displeasure about the termination of appointments by the NPP government.

Speaking during the wrapping up of the House's debate on the State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament, the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrissu, said everyone has an employment contract and it must be respected. 

He said the Minority is also not aware of the president's introduction of any tax increment since he assumed office. 

He questioned where the President got the 13 million dollars to pay the Ghana Armed Forces.

Mr Iddrisu was not happy about the President's verbal condemnation of the recent vandalisation of state property by alleged New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth activist. He said that is not enough.

On the Energy Sector, Mr Iddrissu said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is the only government that has invested heavily in the Energy sector. 

Meanwhile the Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu says it would be wrong for any economist to compare the Gross Domestic Product of a non-oil economy to an oil fueled economy.

He noted that management of the economy was better under former President Kufuor's administration.
