Tamale taxi drivers threaten legal action against tricycle operators The Coalition of Taxi Drivers in the Northern Region, have threatened to go to court if government does not take tricycles off the streets. The Coalition says the use of tricycles as commercial vehicles contravenes road traffic regulations and must be banned. At a news conference in Tamale, the Public Relations Officer of the Coalition, McCarthy Frimpong, said tricycles have become a nuisance in the metropolis. He said these have no registration numbers, insurance and road worthy certificates. The Northern Regional Office of the National Road Safety Commission has therefore raised concerns about activities of operators in the metropolis. GBC
