Al-Shabaab claims to kill 17 soldiers in Somalia attack

An organization that monitors extremist groups says al-Shabab is claiming to have killed 17 soldiers and wounded 22 in an attack in southwestern Somalia.

The extremist group also claims that it shelled bases of the African Union mission in the city in a night assault.

However Somalia's government has admitted the attack stressing that it was immediately repulsed and just two people were killed.
