Ministerial Committee formed to lead fight against galamsey

A ten-member ministerial committee to lead the fight against ‘galamsey’ has been formed. 

The committee includes, National Security, Ministry of the Interior, Lands and Natural Resources, Ministry of Water and Sanitation as well as Ministry of Environment Science, Technology and Innovation.  

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Peter Amewu, announced this at the launch of a Media Coalition Against Galamsey in Accra.   

The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Kofi Adda, said his Ministry is ready to support the campaign against illegal mining (galamsey) in order to save water resources in the country.
