Friday April 26 declared 'National Red Day' against Illegal Mining

The Media Coalition Against Illegal Mining has declared Friday, April 26 a 'National Red Day' to exert pressure on government to take steps to stop illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
 
The Coalition, with support from civil society group,Occupy Ghana and Denkyira Development Association ,an association of areas affected by galamsey activities, said the challenge illegal mining poses is grave.
