Yendi Municipal Assembly fails to elect Presiding member The Yendi Municipal Assembly has failed to elect a Presiding member. Ibrahim Abu Zolge and Abdulai Mohammed Mutala filed to contest for the Presiding membership but the Electoral Commission disqualified Mohammed Mutala for failing to get the required supporters to endorse his nomination form. In the first round of the election out of the 43 votes cast Mr. Zolge polled 29 and 14 voted against him. He could not get the two thirds of the votes cast. The Assembly Members decided to go out for consultation. They returned and agreed that they should go on second round. In the second round Mr. Zolge again polled 29 out of the 43 Votes Cast with 13 voting against him with one rejected ballot. The Municipal coordinating Director, Serfo Kantanka said a new date would be fixed after the management of the Assembly meets. GBC
